Below you will find an overview of the most frequently asked questions regarding caravan storage in France and how Fr Assistance operates in this area.
Most of the storages in our network have 7 days a week access to pick up and store your caravan. This is especially true in the high season. However,it is true that the lunch break between 12 noon and 2 pm in France is sacred and many storages are therefore closed for a while.
Some storages have specific opening times in the early and late season.

Yes, during the term of storage, you can always contact us if you want to use your caravan for a short period. We’ll stay in direct contact with the storage owner.
We advise you to make them aware of the fact that your caravan / vehicle is parked in France. The insurers must include an insurance clause in the contract.
No, you never have to leave the caravan key to the storage. You can take this back with you to the UK. Unless of course in case of servicing of your caravan, if the technician needs to enter it.
Please do not assume that the storage owners in France are insured for the building in which the caravan is parked.
We always advise you to insure your caravan against theft, fire and damage. In some cases, the storage locations in France are insured against fire and theft damage. However, this does not mean that your caravan / vehicle is insured with it. It is therefore wise to ensure the caravan but this decision is up to you.
A company in the UK which can provide insurance for storage in France is Shield Total Insurance.
If you decide to park your caravan uninsured in storage, keep in mind that damage caused by your caravan to third-party caravans and property of the storage owner falls under your own responsibility.
With some caravan sites in our network we have made an agreement that the full payment (brokerage fee and storage amount) will be made through Fr Assistance. You therefore pay the full amount for the caravan parking to Fr Assistance. You will receive an invoice for this. Only a few months prior to storage you will receive the invoice.
For some storage parkings you pay the annual ‘brokerage fee’ to us in advance and you then receive the invoice for the storage parking from the French owner of the storage. In that case, you will receive two invoices. One by Fr Assistance (brokerage fee) and one by the storage (storage amount)
We remain the direct point of contact before, during and after you have parked your caravan.
Some storages operate with a fixed price per year. For most storages, the price quote is calculated based on the total length (including drawbar) of the caravan. This length is stated on the registration certificate. In addition, there is of course a difference in price between indoor or outdoor storage. And the duration of the storage period also influences the price. With this formula you can calculate your saving with storing your caravan in France.
No, we are not the owner of the caravan storage locations. Fr Assistance provides the complete mediation for storing your caravan / vehicle in France. Due to the fact that we have good contacts with the different storage locations in our network and an excellent command of the French language, the entire booking process can be entrusted to us.
Yes, at our caravan sites in Laiz, Montoison, Chomerac, Pierrelatte, Sauvian, Vendres, Elne, La Tremblade, Frejus and Agde the caravans can be brought and brought to campsites in the area around the garage. However, there are additional costs involved. Send us an email and we will give you a price indication.

Fr Assistance offers you the possibility to conclude contracts for a few months or year contracts. We are very flexible in this.
Not later than 3 months prior to expiring, Fr Assistance will contact you to propose a renewal of the contract with the storage. You don’t have to do this yourselves and your contract is never renewed automatically.
The contract only starts from the first day that the caravan enters into storage and not earlier.
